Do springs hurt on braces?
Forsus Springs generally don’t hurt at all when they are placed. By the time a patient gets Forsus Springs installed, they’ve usually had braces for about a year and their teeth and mouth have adapted to having orthodontic appliances already.
How long do you wear springs on braces?
Forsus springs are used in conjunction with braces and are typically worn for 3-8 months. Unlike rubber bands or headgear, you do not have to remember to wear it. It works around the clock, using continuous gentle forces to provide as efficient a treatment time as possible.

If you have trouble re-engaging the spring, or if something has broken on the spring and cannot be re-engaged, you can temporarily secure it with elastics (rubber bands) or dental floss.
