Do bite blocks wear down?
Bite blocks are softer than teeth and will wear down. If you feel your bite touching the bracket or if your bite block wears down or falls off, you MUST let us know! This is not an emergency, schedule an appointment during regular office hours.
How long does it take to align bite with braces?
On average, it takes about 24 months to complete an orthodontic treatment. You can still eat pizza when you have braces, but it all comes down to the type of pizza. The best way to go is soft-crust pizza. Tougher crusts or thin crusts can damage your braces and get stuck between the wires, brackets and your teeth. You could even have fun making your own pizza to suit your orthodontics.
